- The first edition was written in 2015, long before the COVID19 pandemic and social upheaval, and was intended to be a live action short film. In November 2019, the project morphed into a traditional 2D comic novel. When readers requested more of the story, a sequel was planned.
- Book Two was supposed to be about Dyllan Blake but readers unanimously requested more about and connected with Dyllan’s little sister, Scout. The original story was rewritten from Scout’s point of view.
- Book Three rounded out the trilogy by tying up any loose ends and completing Scout’s coming of age story.
